Subject: CTA State Council Delegate Election

There is an open seat for CTA State Council that closes on August 23rd.  The term runs through June of 2025.  Generally, there are 4 meetings on weekends throughout the year in Southern California that are required.  If you are interested in running/getting involved in CTA, this is a great opportunity.  All the information you need is below in text or in links.

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENT AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2024 ELECTION In effort to fill seat vacancies for State Council, the CTA Elections and Credentials Committee will conduct an election for Multiple Electorals. Here are the lists of State Council Representative open seats/vacancies. Please see page 2 to review the timeline.

What are the duties of a State Council delegate?

State Council delegates regularly attend all four meetings of the State Council of Education, participate actively in the work of committees to which they are assigned, become informed on professional and educational matters in the chapter(s) represented and be prepared to make appropriate presentation of recommendations originating in the chapter(s). 

Delegates report regularly to their chapter(s) regarding the deliberations and actions of the State Council of Education and attend and participate in the meetings and activities of the Service Center Council of which their chapter is a part. 

Nominations for State Council Representative shall be conducted according to the Open Nomination Procedure. This procedure holds that every eligible CTA member shall have the opportunity to nominate any CTA member who meets the qualifications for office. Winners for the State Council Representative seats are determined by majority vote. Runners up will become the Alternate.
